The river towns
Garfield, Lodi, Elmwood Park, Lyndhurst and Mahwah sit on the Passaic, Saddle and Ramapo rivers. Here, a big storm can mean muddy floodwater on the first floor and a basement full to the joists. These jobs need sanitizing as well as drying.
The Palisades and the city
In Fort Lee, Cliffside Park and Hackensack, people live stacked on top of each other. One overflow upstairs reaches several apartments, and the work involves supers, boards and building rules as much as dehumidifiers.
The older suburbs
Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Teaneck, Bergenfield, Ridgewood, Wyckoff and Rutherford are full of basements, sump pumps, plaster walls and original oak. Most calls start below grade or inside a wall, and saving the floors matters.
