How we rebuild

Back to the Way It Was

The cleanup is only half the job. After water, flood, mold or fire damage, the drywall has been cut, the floors have been pulled and rooms are down to the studs. REA Floors provides repair and reconstruction after water damage across North Jersey, rebuilding everything we removed, from A to Z, back to pre-damage condition.

Drywall & insulation

Wet drywall and insulation are almost always removed during the dry-out, whether it’s a two-foot flood cut or a full wall. We replace the insulation, hang new drywall, then tape, mud and finish it so it’s ready for paint. Drywall removal and installation is part of nearly every job we rebuild.

Flooring installation

Floors are in our name. We install and replace hardwood, ceramic, marble, tile and carpet after water damage. When boards can be saved, our floor restoration team sands and refinishes them to match instead of replacing the whole room.

Basement rebuilds

After a flooded basement or a sewage backup, finished basements usually lose their carpet, the bottom of the walls and the trim. Once the slab and walls are dry, we put the room back: insulation, drywall, trim, paint and new flooring.

Kitchen & bath rebuilds

Kitchens and bathrooms are where most household leaks start: dishwashers, sinks, ice-maker lines, toilets and tubs. We rebuild the walls, floors and finishes in these rooms once the water damage is dried and repaired.

Interior painting

New drywall and repaired ceilings need primer and paint before a room feels finished. We paint walls, ceilings and trim so the repaired areas blend in with the rest of the house.

Carpentry & trim

Baseboards, door casings and trim soak up water and swell. We replace and install trim and handle the carpentry repairs that come with water and fire damage.

Ceiling repair

Leaks from a bathroom or roof above usually come through the ceiling. We open up wet or sagging ceilings so they can dry, then patch, replace and paint them.

One company, start to finish

Because we handled the water damage restoration, we already know what was removed, what the moisture readings showed and what your adjuster has seen. There’s no new contractor to bring up to speed and no second estimate to wait for. The same is true after fire and smoke damage and mold remediation.

How it works

Our Rebuild Process

One estimate, one schedule and one crew, from bare studs to a finished room.

  1. Step 1

    Walk the damage

We look at what was removed and what was damaged and talk through how you want it finished.

  2. Step 2

    One clear estimate

You get one free estimate for the whole rebuild, not separate bids from separate trades.

  3. Step 3

    Rebuild the room

Drywall, ceilings, carpentry, paint and floors go in, in the right order.

  4. Step 4

    Final walkthrough

We walk the finished space with you so it's right before we call it done.

The Crew That Dried It
Is the Crew That Rebuilds It.

Most water damage companies only do the drying, and then you're on your own finding a contractor. With REA Floors, there's no handoff. We already know the job, the moisture readings and exactly what was removed, so the rebuild starts as soon as the house is dry.

  • No second contractor to find
  • No waiting for a new estimate
  • Floors done by floor specialists
  • Works alongside your insurance claim

Repair & Reconstruction FAQs

What homeowners ask us about putting the house back together.

1-800-398-9007
Do you only rebuild jobs you dried out?

No. We're happy to give a free rebuild estimate even if another company did the water removal. It helps if you have their moisture readings and photos.

Can you match my existing floors and paint?

We work to make repairs blend in with the rest of the house. Floors are our specialty, so we can often repair and refinish hardwood to match instead of replacing a whole room.

How long does a rebuild take?

It depends on how much was removed and what's going back in. After the walkthrough, we'll give you a clear plan and timeline with your free estimate.

Does insurance pay for the rebuild?

If the original damage is covered, the repairs usually are too. We work with insurance companies and can walk your adjuster through the rebuild scope.

Do I need separate contractors for drywall, paint and floors?

No. We handle drywall, ceilings, painting, carpentry and flooring, so you deal with one company and one estimate.

Can you rebuild a finished basement?

Yes. After a basement flood or sewage backup, we put back the drywall, insulation, trim, paint and flooring.
